Avoid Cancer

No wonder more folks are dying from cancer than ever before.  We wonder where this stuff comes from but here is an example that explains a lot of the cancer causing incidents. Many people are in their cars since morning till night.
Please do NOT turn on, A/C as soon as you enter the car. Open the windows and turn ON the AC after a few minutes.

According to a research, the car dashboard, sofa, air freshener emit Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin, carcinogen (observe smell of heated plastic in your car). Benzene poisons your bones, causes anemia and reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure may cause Leukemia, or Miscarriage.
Acceptable Benzene level is 50mg per sq.ft. A car parked indoors with windows closed contains, 400-800 mg Benzene.

If parked outdoors under the sun @600 F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level.

People who get into the car, keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale, in quick succession, excessive amounts of the toxin.

Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidney and liver… What’s worse, it is extremely difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff.

So friends, please open the windows and door of your car – give time for interior to air out -dispel the deadly stuff – before you enter.

Few self improvement tips

Dear reader, please never drive rash. Cancel appointment, however important, but do not rush in traffic, haphazardly, just because you committed to meet or order will cancel. Life is more important and precious than rewards. Accidents happen due to stress, negligence driving, urgent hunger, washroom needs, flight missing fear etc. Plan your meet with time gap or leave early.

Sleep well. Day could have been worst. On reaching home, have shower, relax, have a drink if you like, watch TV, go for walk, read. But when in bedroom, leave your thoughts outside. Planning or worrying for next day will not help here. Sleep tight, 100% or next day will again be bad. Choose soft mattress (soft coir, spring, natural latex, memory foam only), 100% cotton white bed sheet, cotton pillow cover, pillow to suit your comfort, clean quilt white cotton. 7 hour sleep is must. It is not important to awake early as told. At least for 3 hours one gets deep sleep. Normally it is between 2 A.M. to 5 P.M but not necessary for all. Those working at night should choose bedroom with peace, dark.

Believe in your self. Trust your boss, colleagues, subordinates, the company and product. Kill competition should be the attitude. Reach office earliest, sell maximum daily, create new markets and outlets, perform best should be the  motto. Think! There must be a better way.

Whatever career, master your skills. Let everybody know that your are the best in your field. Choose your segment and excel in that.

I have not been a good listener, lost so much, I can’t explain. I loose talked and lost several deals and jobs. Most of the times, listening in an interview is better than explaining. Listening is art.

Self praise is no recommendation. No one is interested in your growth story or achievement. They have their own goals and ambitions. To be popular, listen with attention, advise only when needed, do not interrupt the client, keep eye contact. Body language or posture should show attention. Your purpose is not to win an opinion but grab the deal

Wisdom tips

Oxford says:

Wisdom – the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise

What I say here is not I practice everything. These, my reader, I write for you and for myself, at 56, after numerous mistakes.

Do your own branding and positioning the way you do for your product (eg. Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan) success is for everyone, not impossible or very far. Keep trying, you  may be not be deserving, but lucky. Luck does not change course, you have to enter its route.

We do not succeed alone. Our friends, mentors, books, financial supporters, parents, all help us in meeting our goals. If we choose these collaborators wisely, we increase our chances to succeed.

Keep playing. The life is a gamble. We may win or lose. Friends and enemies, both are here. Keep trying, playing your cards.

Don’t be afraid of problems. They will teach you more than anything else. If you keep on working to solve them you will see how easy it is. Kashmir, Isreal or Palestine, all have solution, but nobody wants to solve.

Each day gives us opportunity to dance, depends we want to enjoy dancing ourselves or watch others performing. Life is very romantic, most wonderful. Live it full, you live only once. Live it, the way you love your passion.

Be clear in communication, in words, vocabulary, pitch, tone, body language, emphasis, eye contact, talking and listening. When writing, take care of paragraph, column, mail courtesies, fonts, sizes, gaps, opening and closing a sentence or message. SMSs and telephone conversations also help you in building the image. You must know whom to SMS what. Be careful. Once, after drink, I SMSed a bad joke to a client instead of a friend at 11 P.M. I realized and SMSed to client next day, my apology. He appreciated.

You must listen to your passions and talk to your dreams daily, telling them how much you want and need them. Sooner or later, they will get the hint and give you an appointment. Pursue them for urgency of meeting the way you ask your girlfriend of her phone, address or mail ID.  Time lost never comes back. Time is money.

Never bring down your price because competition has done it or somebody quoted less. Instead, add value to your product, build brand image, improve quality, courtesy, delivery, after sales service, packaging, selling skills, presentation. But remember, you have to justify the price tag to buyer. Do not underestimate him or ignore. Listen to him. He may not talk sense but he is the one who brings you money. I did my product marketing business for 18 years from only 20$. With hard work I built my business, made an office, reputation, largest innovative product’s range of India and lost everything, because I took my buyer for granted, lowered the quality of products and services.

When you make an appointment leave early. Take margin for traffic, breakdowns. Everyone likes punctuality. For delay, SMS or call so that other person can use his time. Time wasted is money dumped.

Be fair to all. Treat others they way you like to be treated, rewards for this take time to come but they do. If you are not fair in your deals, you will bear penalties, sooner than you expect. If somebody tells you anything in confidence, do not break his trust. You must know what to talk to whom. If you keep the trust, everyone will trust you. What you say to a colleague, you can’t say to your boss or customer.

If you make a mistake, accept immediately. Apologize. Take the blame. Keep your promises, always. No one forgets what you promised, even your little child.

Service and care of customers builds loyalty better than thousand advertisements. When dealing, give your all because the opportunity may not repeat. Plan your meeting with the client or your girlfriend. It will help you to win loyalty.

My manager in HUL advised me when I asked ‘ always be straight in your dealings, do what is right, you will have no problems in life’. Whenever I deviated from his advice, I met with problems

Love everyone, the gatekeeper, your pet, street dog, your car, house, colleague, assistant, customer, supplier, service provider, telecaller, ATM. All this will contribute to your success. Never be afraid of giving. In old times, seamen said, ‘When tides are high, lie low’. In marketing, it is different. ‘ When business is good, advertise. When business is bad, advertise more’.

A great philosopher said. ‘If you plan for an year, grow rice. When plan for 5 years, grow tree. If plan for 20 years, educate all around you, delegate, diversify, grow’.

Innovate, with yourself and everything you do. The way you walk, talk, read, write, eat or listen. One at a time and work on it. Be prepared to lose. No one wins forever (See what happened in FIFA). What matters is not how you achieved success but also what you did to achieve it. There is grace in falling, the way you take your fall and getup from the fall. Learn to handle bad times with dignity.

Say thank you to all. The peon, sanitation guy, traffic inspector who gives you the slip, driver giving you side, your wife, child, housemaid, waiter, deliveryman. You will see dramatic change in your happiness and personality. But say it from heart.

For 20 years I have been thinking to write. Several times I tried and tore off papers. My friend Mohit, who understands me best, always pursued me whenever we met but I had one or other excuse. One day he wrote on his blog ‘why write’ and I made this blog. Also contributor is my colleague Sunita, typing an improving my work daily. Practice makes us perfect.
